When I discovered this recipe it immediately became an autumn favorite! This sweet apple recipe is a great Sunday morning breakfast.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 tbsp of active dry yeast

  • 1 cup of warm milk

  • 1/2 cup of melted butter

  • 1 egg

  • 2/3 cup + 2 tbsp in a separately

  • 1 tsp of salt

  • 3 + 1/2 cups of flour

  • 1 apple peeled and chopped into small cubes (I used Fuji but honey crisp or granny)

  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

–For Icing–

  • 1 cup of powdered sugar

  • 4 1/2 tsp hot water

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

What To Do

  1. In a large bowl add yeast and warm milk and let it sit for 5 minutes.

  2. Add in the butter, eggs, 2 tbsps of sugar, salt, and 3 cups of flour, then mix well.

  3. Add the remaining flour and form into a dough.

  4. Using an ice cream scooper, scoop balls into a light layer into a greased circle baking sheet, making sure to leave at least half of the dough for a top layer.

  5. Emil together brown sugar, cinnamon, and apples, to make the apple filling and layer over the dough.

  6. Use the ice cream scoop again to layer dough on top of the apples. Lay a finishing layer of apples over the top.

  7. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until it is golden brown.

  8. Meanwhile mix the powdered sugar, water, and vanilla to make the thick glaze.

  9. Remove bread from the pan and drizzle glaze over it while it is still warm.

  10. Enjoy!
