Homemade Apple Sauce
When the apples start coming in there is nothing is sweeter than warm applesauce baking in the oven. This simple three ingredient recipe is a quick snack that goes great with lunches, but also works as a little fall treat!
Ingredients
1/2 cup of brown sugar
1 tsp of ground cinnamon
8 peeled and chopped apples. (I used Fuji, but honey crisp or granny work just as well.)
What to do:
Preheat the oven to 375˚F.
In oven proof pot with a lid mix together the sugar and the cinnamon until well dispersed.
Add the apples and thoroughly count them in the sugar/cinnamon mixture.
Bake for 40-45 minutes. Pull out about half way through the baking to stir and mash the apples a little then re–place in the oven.
Apples should be a golden brown and very soft. Mash to your desired consistency.
Enjoy!
